AP CM N Chandrababu Naidu laid  foundation stone for construction of XLRI - Xavier School of Management, one of India’s premier B-Schools at their new campus in Amaravati on Thursday. Addressing a gathering on this occasion, Naidu said, “XLRI Jamshedpur has thoughtfully designed world-class infrastructure facilities and has become one of the most reputed national B-Schools. XLRI practices what it preaches. It observes value orientation in every sphere of life. I am happy to learn that XLRI has completed 70 glorious years of educating global business leaders and focused on training future business leaders.”

The new campus of XLRI Amaravati is being set up at Inavolu village in Tullur mandal in Guntur district on a sprawling area of 50 acres. The new campus would accommodate around 5,000 students to provide postgraduate and undergraduate programmes in management education. The Chief Minister further said that the State government has been encouraging knowledge society and bringing all national and international reputed educational institutions to Amaravati.

He criticised that despite the mandate of the Central government to establish 11 Central universities under the AP Reorganisation Act, they did not establish them in true spirit. The State government allotted sufficient land to the 11 institutions and spent huge amount from its own pocket, he said.
