Loan waiver funds lies nailed: YS Jagan Mohan Reddy

Vijayawada: Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday said the TD government had spent only Rs 743 crore after allocating Rs 4,300 crore for farm loan waiver and had diverting the rest of the money.
He said with the report of the Comptroller and Auditor General, the government’s “lies” had been nailed officially. Mr Reddy was interacting with the media after the Assembly was adjourned sine die.
APCC president N. Raghuveera Reddy demanded an inquiry into the CAG’s observations of “illegal activities and corruption in the TD government” by a sitting judge of the Supreme Court. In a press note, he demanded an open discussion with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on the CAG report.
Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that the CAG had pointed out the estimates for the Handri Neeva, Galeri Nagari, Vamsadhara, Gundlakamma, Telugu Ganga, and Veligonda projects had been revised from Rs 34,057 crore in 2014 to Rs 74,154 crore in 2016. This had confirmed corruption, the APCC chief said.
He pointed to CAG report mentioning that Rs 2,500 pension was being paid to 19,075 families instead of 23,500 families who were rehabilitated after land acquisition.
Mr C. Ramachandraiah demanded a CBI probe into the corruption in the TD government. In the press note, he demanded stern action against corrupt ministers.
He said from the CAG report, one could understand how the CM had “traded” with the contractors, especially in the Pattiseema project. He pointed to the Rs 109-crore additional burden incurred due to approval of high premium tenders to contractors, Rs 14-crore malafide benefits to contractors from wron-gly paid labour welfare fund and Rs 21 crore malafide benefits from the Pushkara lift irrigation canals package.
He said the CAG report proved the Opposition parties’ contention that the Pattiseema project was inefficient.
